¡Adios, Michigan!

I am currently sitting in the Grand Rapids (Michigan) Airport waiting to board my flight to Atlanta. There is a slight delay due to a malfunctioning coffee maker on board the aircraft (Seriously? I love my coffee and all, but that seems a little ridiculous to delay a flight for this!). Hopefully the delay is minimal, as I only have a brief layover before my flight to San Jose, Costa Rica. I am very excited to begin my studies at Veritas University for the next ten weeks! I will be spending the first four weeks studying Spanish. I will then have a weeklong break, when my family--yes all of them!--will join me for a week touring the country. The five weeks after that I will be studying medical Spanish and the Costa Rican healthcare system. I know I will learn so much while I am there, not only improving my Spanish skills but having a great cultural experience as well. I do not know what I am most excited about: the sights, the people, the culture, my family visiting, new friends. How do I choose?!
Mom and me: Pre-security
All ready to go!
Update: The reason for the coffee pot delay is that the machine leaked onto the floor, and beneath the floor are all the electronics. A mechanic is currently checking it out, and we should be on our way shortly. In the meantime, I decided to photograph my shoes--Keens, the #1 suggested choice for all traveling purposes in Costa Rica. They are extremely comfortable and so far well worth the investment at Battle Creek's local shoe store, Rice's Shoes

Boarding time!

¡Adios, Michigan!
